The buzzed-about Saucony Originals Grid 8000 “Shrimp Scampi” style that sneakerheads have been salivating over will finally be released Friday, according to the company.

Saucony’s latest Grid 8000 colorway — inspired by the Italian-American dish it gets its name from — has an off-white and light-pink suede upper with a matching off-white and white midsole featuring a light pink splatter. The eyelets and Saucony branding on the tongue are akin to garnish sprinkled atop the dish.
As with other sneakers in the GRID 8000 family, the “Shrimp Scampi” look features midsole technology to reduce shock and enhance stability. The shoes also incorporate G.R.I.D. technology, which hit the market more than 20 years ago, keeping technology and comfort in mind for the modern-day sneakerhead.

Nicknamed the “Lobster” early on by the online sneaker community, the Saucony Originals Grid 8000 “Shrimp Scampi” will retail for $120 on Saucony.com beginning Friday. Select Saucony Originals retailers, such as Heist, Afew and Sneaker Politics, will also carry them starting next week (Thursday and July 8).
