Ronnie Fieg’s sneaker collabs don’t sit on Kith shelves for long. His latest drop with Diadora — commemorating the 2016 Summer Olympics — should be no different.
The Ronnie Fieg x Diadora “From Seoul to Rio” Intrepid arrives on Saturday and will retail for $180. The shoe will be sold at Kith’s Manhattan and Brooklyn, N.Y., locations, as well as via kithnyc.com, starting at 11 a.m. ET. The made-in-Italy shoes will be limited to 500 pairs.
Fieg dug into the Diadora archives to unearth the Intrepid style, a shoe with a low profile atypical of its era, for its addition to the Italy-based brand’s “From Seoul to Rio” initiative.
The upper — executed in rugged pebbled nubuck and lush pigskin suede — boasts colors inspired by the hues of prominent world-class track clubs of the late 1980s, according to Kith. The shoe employs a teal, light orange, washed navy, pale pink, and soft gray color palette.
Fieg’s take on the shoe features its branding on the tongue and heel pulls, a detail exclusive to his model, as well as a color-blocked trail-running outsole, asymmetrical “From Seoul to Rio” insole branding, two sets of multicolored woven laces, and custom packaging.
The store owner and designer teased the collaboration via his personal Instagram account last week.
