A Look at Puma’s Rosy New Collaboration With Sneakerhead Illustrator Careaux

A rose by any other name would be called Puma x Careaux.

The brand’s court classic Basket sneakers have undergone a makeover featuring floral art by Netherlands-based illustrator and sneakerhead Caroll Lyn, whose nom de guerre is Careaux.

The collection drops on Saturday at ShopBop, Free People, Atlanta’s WISH and Boston’s Bodega.

Inspired by Careux’s life journey, the kicks incorporate the artist’s signature, which celebrates beauty and strength. Other design treatments include a suede upper, mesh tongue and speckled midsole. The interior is emblazoned with floral graphics, too, as well as a rose-shaped accessory that’s adorned at the top of the lace hole.

Available in rose and black, the shoes retail for $80.

Careux took to Instagram to share her excitement about the release. “I literally ran down stairs screaming after I got off the phone cause I heard the best news and I seriously want to cry but… let’s first deal with the release of these babies TOMORROW!!!” she captioned an image of the black sneaker.
