Puma reimagined its iconic Blaze of Glory silhouette to create a new shoe sneakerheads would go crazy over, simply named Blaze. To help showcase the shoe, the brand enlisted the services of photography collective Team Cozy.
The result of the collaboration is a series of photos that display the creative energy of both the brand and the photographers. The images Team Cozy captured, using some of the most recognizable Los Angeles neighborhoods as backdrops, show the Puma Blaze’s new style through lifestyle shots.
The collection first showcased at a pop-up gallery in downtown Los Angeles on March 12.
To modernize the Blaze of Glory shoe, the reimagined version of the classic no longer has a heel loop on the shoe’s upper, but still features the brand’s renowned Trinomic outsole.
The original Puma Blaze of Glory arrived in the 1990s and featured the brand’s signature combination of plush materials and plastic. The silhouette has been the medium for a number of collaborations as of late with renowned retailers, including a pair of HIV/AIDS awareness-influenced iterations from Huntington, N.Y.-based Rise, Teaneck, N.J.-based Packer Shoes and Australia-based magazine’s “Bloodbath” edition, and Bape’s version that dropped in December.
Team Cozy is well known for its compelling footwear images, and it has garnered a devout following on social media.
