Nike To Debut Running Jungle Pack On June 9

Nike hopes to be the king of the jungle.

The athletic company will launch its Running Jungle Pack on June 9. The pack, which includes three styles, will be sold at select stores and on Nike.com.

Made for men and women, the three looks — the Nike LunarTempo 2, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 33 and the Nike Free RN — play on the theme of jungle life.

In particular, the sneakers “showcase a dense tropical motif featuring the equatorial flora and fauna. Delicate insect wings and lush branches reside alongside bright poison dart frogs, the camouflage flash of a jaguar and phosphorescent-like blue finishing,” Nike said in a statement.

Jungle themes appear to be hot right now.

Running competitor Brooks launched late last year its Urban Jungle Collection, featuring novelty cheetah prints for women and a zebra print for men.

And last month, Havaianas brought a bit of the Brazilian rainforest to New Yorkers. As part of a publicity move, the flip-flop company aimed to get consumers in the summer spirit.
