Self-lacing sneakers have defined Nike’s contribution to footwear technology in 2016, with the release of its limited classic Mag and the unveiling of the contemporary HyperAdapt 1.0. The latter style now has an official release date.
The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 arrives at the brand’s New York City storefront in the Soho neighborhood and the Nike+ ClubHouse (at 45 Grand St. in New York City) on Thursday. The shoe will retail for $720.
The first colorway of the shoe to drop is the black, white and blue lagoon iteration.
A larger release of this colorway — as well as the metallic silver, black and white iteration — will happen in December, according to the brand, via the Nike+ app and select Nike doors stateside.
Information on how to book appointments to learn about the shoe as well as buy them will be available on nike.com and the Nike+ app.
Nike unveiled the auto-lacing HyperAdapt 1.0 in March.
