New Balance’s fall ’16 outdoor collection won’t see a widespread release until October, but those who want a jump on the outdoor line can head over to the New Balance x Extra Butter pop-up shop in Manhattan starting Sept. 16.
The pop-up, located within Extra Butter’s 125 Orchard St. location, is launching multiple styles from the New Balance outdoor collection for both men and women. Styles include the New Balance 580 Deconstructed Mid, the Fresh Foam Paradox and a range of Trailbusters, including the Fresh Foam Trailbuster, the Trailbuster and the Trailbuster Re-engineered.
The Trailbuster was originally released in 1997 for the off-road runner. Now, the classic style is available for $99.95 in burgundy and wheat colorways, while the Re-engineered version offers a molded neoprene heel tap, an outsole made from recycled materials, and an upper done in synthetic suede and mesh with FantimFit no-sew overlays.
New Balance’s 580 Deconstructed Mid, retailing at $124.95, takes the classic 580 and redefines it with a new midcut style. The silhouette offers a bootie collar and is available in three earth-toned colorways.
For the Fresh Foam Paradox, consumers can rely on a waterproof membrane and lugged outsoles. The shoes are winter-ready and blend comfort with athletic performance and a lifestyle look. They’re available for $149.95.
“We’ve been working with New Balance closely and have seen both stylish and functional design amplified in their outdoor category,” said Jason Faustino, co-owner of Extra Butter. “I believe there is an increasing sentiment among people to unplug and escape … now we have the product and intention to interact with nature year-round.”
