Rap superstar and actor Ludacris wanted to make sure the world saw a specific pair of sneakers from his collection that he wore during his promotional obligations as co-host of Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards.
While being interviewed by comedian and TV personality Jimmy Kimmel on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday night — alongside the awards show’s other co-host, Ciara — the Georgia-born rapper rocked the Under Armour Curry One MVP. But not only did he wear the shoes on the show, he lifted them up in the air when the interview ended, and the crowd clapped and shouted.
Under Armour announced on May 10 — the same day it was revealed that Stephen Curry would receive his second-straight Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award — that the Curry One MVP would be part of the Curry MVP Back 2 Back Pack releasing on June 24, which also includes a black and gold iteration of the Curry Two. The Back 2 Back Pack will be available on June 24 at select retailers and Under Armour Brand Houses throughout the country.
When it came down to showtime, Ludacris stepped out of his basketball sneakers and slipped on a pair of embellished black Giuseppe Zanetti shoes for the Billboard Music Awards.
