Outdoor brand Keen, based in Portland, Ore., is expanding its executive team with the appointment of John Eberle as the brand’s first-ever GM, Outdoor, Lifestyle and Kids.
The 26-year industry veteran will focus on driving Keen’s long-range global business strategy in these three categories, overseeing global business operations, management strategy and product and business development.
“We are thrilled to have John join this world-class executive team as he brings a unique passion for business and the outdoors,” said Keen President Steve Meineke. “John is the absolute best fit for leading our largest business into the future.”
Eberle began his career in the late 1980s. Prior to joining Keen, he spent 13 years at Nike in various roles, most recently as VP/GM running Emerging Markets, where he managed the holistic running business across numerous countries.
“Keen presents a perfect story of opportunity, strong culture and great talent,” said Eberle. “I’m humbled to be trusted to help this brand accelerate to the next level.”
Eberle is the fourth high-profile hire for Keen in the past year. Earlier this month, Tyler La Motte joined as VP of brand marketing; Christy Saito joined as VP of Global Product Merchandising, Outdoor and Lifestyle; and Rob Langstaff came aboard as VP of International.
