Regardless of your political views, Extra Butter has something dropping on Election Day that the retailer’s fans have agreed on: the design of its next collaboration.
The result of Extra Butter’s social design experiment in conjunction with Saucony arrives on Nov. 8 at both of the boutique’s locations. The Extra Butter x Saucony Shadow 5000 “EBFTP” arrives at the stores at 11 a.m. ET, followed by an online release at noon ET. The shoe will retail for $120.

To create the shoe — inspired by the democratic process of this year’s presidential election — Extra Butter gave its followers on social media the power to provide insight and ideas for how it should look, giving them first-hand experience of how a collaboration comes together. On social media, the retailer’s followers decided the shoe model used, the concept executed, the colorway, materials, and critiqued the first round of samples via Periscope.

Executed on Saucony’s classic Shadow 5000 is the “Nite At the Drive-In” theme, with color-blocking resembling classic 1950s automobile colors. The upper features full grain leather, Wolverine pigskin suede and patent leather, and boasts details including chrome grill accents, custom graphic tongue label and insole, reflective red inspired by taillights, and checkerboard accent laces.
The packaging also features the “Nite At the Drive-In” theme, with its co-branded tissue paper and an introduction explaining the premise of the project.
Extra Butter will also be at ComplexCon on Saturday and Sunday with an “EBFTP” booth, releasing a limited quantity of the shoe and capsule apparel.
