Last week, New York-based boutique retailer Extra Butter unveiled its Western film inspired collaboration with Italian sneaker maker Diadora. Today, the store released official images and release date information for the shoe.
The Extra Butter x Diadora Spaghetti Western Titan II will be available at “High Noon” (12 p.m.) on Friday via the retailer’s website in limited quantities, with a full release in the New York City and Rockville Centre locations on Saturday. The shoe will retail for $160 and come in U.S. men’s sizes 4 though 13.
The collaboration connects the retailer’s film-inspired roots with the brand’s Italian heritage, paying homage to the Spaghetti Western film genre – American Western-themed movies shot in Italy throughout the 1960s. The shoe – which uses chambray, premium saddle leather, goat skin hide, southwestern poncho weave and shearling lining – marks the first collaboration Diadora engaged in with a retailer on its classic Titan II silhouette. The materials are indicative of the garments worn by the characters in these films.
Extra Butter has been busy with footwear collaborations as of late. In December, the retailer unveiled the first samples of its upcoming collaboration with Saucony on the brand’s Shadow 5000 silhouette, using the input of its customers via social media to design the shoe.
