Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson promises to work tirelessly to make sure his first shoe for Under Armour performs up to his standards.
The “Fast & Furious” actor shared on Instagram a photo of his workout routine on Thursday, explaining that he plans to put the prototype of the footwear to the test by wearing it every day ahead of its release early next year.
“I’ll train in these prototypes daily for the rest of 2016 improving them,” he explained. “So by the time they drop, they’ll be [100 percent] ready to help you chase that greatness.”
Last week, Johnson shared that he has been experimenting with the sneakers for the past year when he debuted the kicks for his social media fans.
The black high-tops feature embossed treatments, motivational phrases on the upper and yellow accents throughout the design.
The tongue is emblazoned with “Earn it” on one shoe, and the other is stamped with “Blood, sweat and respect.”
Under Armour branding is included around the toe bed, and Johnson’s logo is on the counter.
In February, Johnson and UA announced a long-term partnership dubbed Project Rock that would include lifestyle and footwear products in the collection. One month later, the collaborators unveiled a line of bags.
Since the announcement, Under Armour released two bags with The Rock’s branding in March, debuted a commercial in April and unveiled a mobile alarm clock app — Rock Clock — in May.
