The Concepts x New Balance TBTF “Night Trail” – the first collaboration between the retailer and the brand this year – uses New Balance’s classic Trailbuster Reengineered trail running shoe from the 1990s. The shoe will be available at the retailer’s Cambridge, Mass. and New York City locations, as well as via its website, on Saturday, with a $135 retail price.
The shoe, according to Concepts, is made for today’s urban explorer, offering a contemporary take on the hiking aesthetic by combining performance and lifestyle elements through technology with premium materials.
The collaboration uses materials for practical use of the shoe, including an upper that boasts reflective elements for night visibility, including reflective textile and metallic close-knit mesh with a reflective New Balance FantomFit welded skin. Other reflective elements on the shoe are its eyelets and metallic embroidery on the tongue.
The shoe also features Concepts-branded woven laces and other branded lace options, inserts, hangtag, and limited-edition packaging.
Concepts chose Nike for its first collaboration of its anniversary celebration with the release of the Free Trainer 1.0 “Thermal,” which arrived Jan. 16 and retailed for $160.
