California-based lifestyle-footwear brand Clae has teamed up with a fellow fashion mainstay in its home state, retailer American Rag, for a limited-edition retro-runner release.
The Clae x American Rag Hoffman, which retails for $120, is available now, exclusively at the retailer’s La Brea Ave. location and the brand’s West Pico Blvd. storefront, both in Los Angeles. The shoe will be available via American Rag and Clae’s online stores starting Wednesday.
The Hoffman collab, according to Clae, is a nod to Southern California’s sand, snow and luxury lifestyles. The shoe features a white cow-suede upper that also boasts a vegetable-tanned leather heel panel and a gold-foil stamped, breathable pigskin-leather footbed. The collab uses an ultra-lightweight blown-EVA outsole with a neoprene heel insert and tongue for comfort.
The independent footwear brand, which started as an out-of-home operation and transformed into a sneakerhead favorite, has stayed true to its California roots by remaining in its studio in the Mid-City district of Los Angeles to develop its products. The brand is celebrating its 15th year in business in 2016.
