Young Boy Runs Onto Court To Give Carmelo Anthony A Hug

Carmelo Anthony got a bit of a surprise during Monday night’s game between his New York Knicks and the New Orleans Pelicans. With less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter, a young boy somehow managed to run onto the court and right up to Anthony to give him a hug.

Anthony didn’t seem phased by the moment at all, hugging the boy in return and patting him on the head before a referee led the child off the court. It seems the boy made it past both an usher and a security guard at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

After the game, the Jordan-sponsored athlete told reporters that this was the first time something like that had ever happened and that he was “very surprised.”

During the game, Anthony wore his signature shoe, the Jordan Melo M12 in a player’s edition colorway. Anthony has also worn the Melo M12 in bright orange.
