The next installment of West Coast-based retailer Bait’s limited-edition collaboration with Diadora and DreamWorks is slated to arrive this weekend, themed after an iconic children’s book series.
The Bait x Diadora x DreamWorks “Where’s Wally” S8000 hits stores Saturday and will retail for $220. The shoe will be available at all seven Bait stores and via an online raffle. The Bait global exclusive collab is limited to 300 pairs.
The character is known for his red, white and blue outfit, which are the colors the retailer chose to dress Diadora’s S8000 silhouette, using premium materials including leather, suede and nubuck to execute the concept. The upper features white on the toe, red mid-foot, and a blue and red split on the heel and collar. The midsole is split between white and cream, and the outsole is red.
The shoe boasts white Diadora branding on the tongue and accents mid foot, and Where’s Wally, Bait and Diadora branding and artwork on the insoles. Three lace options are available (red, white and blue), and it comes in custom triple-branded packaging reminiscent of the classic books.
Bait exclusively revealed the details of its partnership with DreamWorks and Diadora in April. “People are thinking of different ways to make their programs more unique and more impactful,” Bait owner Pen Cheng told FN. “Our strategy is to partner with properties that we love and find angles that make programs more unique. The first release of the collab was the Kung Fu Panda-themed shoe that used the S8000 sneaker, which hit stores June 18.
