Adidas makes speed its focus in a new tennis shoe range.
The brand released the Adizero Ubersonic 2 sneakers on Friday, a performance sneaker designed for the sport.
The shoes feature lightweight and innovative materials, including 3D Torsion technology that delivers midfoot support for quick directional transitions, and rock solid stability from the external sprintframe wrapping around the heel.
The Adituff 180 zones around the toe area provide high-abrasion resistance.
A Primeknit bootie construction in the men’s model provides comfort and flexibility, and the women’s model features a new uni-tongue construction for optimal comfort
Tennis stars Sascha Zverev and Ana Ivanovic will perform in the new footwear, which is available for $130 on Adidas.com and at select retailers.
Adidas director of tennis Alexander Chan said in a statement that the footwear is designed for players “who thrive on the advantage of speed.”
“It’s built to let players reap the benefits of a low-to-court feel coupled with the enhanced fit provided by Primeknit technology,” he explained. “With the adizero Ubersonic 2, you’ve got tour level performance, lightning quickness and supreme confidence wrapped in a modern-day tennis silhouette.”
