Followings its official unveiling in October, James Harden’s first signature sneaker with Adidas finally arrives tomorrow.
The debut colorway of the Adidas Harden Vol. 1 is the “Imma Be a Star,” which takes its theme from a prediction that a young Harden wrote to his mother.
According to Adidas, when Harden was a high school freshman, he scribbled a note to his mom reading, “Imma be a star.” Some 13 years later, the Houston Rockets standout is a four-time NBA All-Star with an $200 million Adidas endorsement deal, effectively realizing the promise he made to his mother over a decade ago.
Built with a black-based Primeknit upper, the Harden Vol. 1 Imma Be a Star features gold threading throughout the knit and a black suede toe shroud. Gold accents appear at the heel, tongue and lace tips, while a translucent black sole reveals the full-length Boost cushioning hiding within.
Set to release tomorrow, the Adidas Harden Vol. 1 Imma Be a Star is priced at $160 — a $20 increase from the previously unveiled Pioneer version — and will be available in limited quantities from adidas.com/harden and select Adidas Basketball doors.
