“Gossip Girl” alum Jessica Szohr has been tapped to represent Timberland’s women’s collection in a fall campaign that kicked off with a celebration on Wednesday at 901Too in West Hollywood, Calif. The actress is the first female celebrity to appear in a print campaign for the brand’s women’s line.
For the occasion, Szohr rocked Timberland’s Atlantic Heights Lace Chukka boot ($160 online) and a Bebe Kendall denim jumpsuit. Speaking to Footwear News, the ambassador talked about the partnership and recalled a LOL-worthy shoe mishap from her past.
FN: What attracted you to represent Timberland’s fall women’s collection?
JS: “I’ve been a fan of Timberland since I was really young. They’re comfy and edgy without making a statement. I’m big on comfy things. They did such a good job with the collection, and fall is my favorite time of the year — it’s got a lot of neutral colors.”
FN: What’s your most interesting shoe memory?
JS: “I was doing ‘Good Morning America’ and I have never been much of a heel girl until I started on ‘Gossip Girl’ and started wearing them more. I was becoming more of a woman — but I wasn’t great at them in the beginning, so I almost fell and tripped. I think it was Christian Louboutin — and it was all on TV. My mom called. It was embarrassing — a lot of people saw it.”
