With age comes wisdom, especially for longtime red-carpet fixture Alison Eastwood, daughter of film and style icon Clint Eastwood.
“I don’t wear heels anymore because I’m too old, but if you’re in your 20s, go ahead and blow out the high heels now because by the time you hit 35, you ain’t gonna wear high heels unless you’re a glutton for punishment,” the 44-year-old told Footwear News on Saturday at the De Re Gallery in Los Angeles at the Art for Animals gala for the Eastwood Ranch Foundation.
Wearing a white Alice + Olivia dress and a pair of pink pumps by the label, the actress confessed, “These shoes are killing me already.”
Her second annual benefit supports the Eastwood family’s nonprofit animal rescue organization.
Eastwood was joined by her director-actor father, Clint (who had on black boots), as well as other celebrity supporters, including “Resurrection” star Frances Fisher, 64, who echoed the blonde’s feelings on heels.
“Having walked red carpets,” the “Titanic” actress explained, “I won’t wear high heels anymore unless they pay me. I’m wearing vegan boots now because me dear friend Diane Warren is a real animal activist and vegan, and she shares many places where I can get vegan purses and shoes, so I’m making that transition.”
Animal rights activist and model Joanna Krupa donned a pair of metallic heels at the soiree, which included appearances by David Arquette and Breeda Wool, Katie Cleary and Brittny Gastineau.
