Danner Boots Get Role In ‘Buddymoon’ Film To Be Released On July 1

Danner boot is back in front of the camera. Following the starring role of its Danner Mountain Light Cascade boot worn by Reese Witherspoon in the 2014 film “Wild,” its Light and Crater Rim hikers will be featured in the film “Buddymoon,” which is set to be released July 1 in theaters and on demand.

The boots are worn by lead characters David Giuntoli (of the NBC series “Grimm”) and comedian Flula Borg. It’s the story of two friends who embark on seven-day backpacking adventure through the mountains of Oregon — a trip that would have been Giuntoli’s honeymoon had his financee not jilted him.

“I’ve always owned Danner Boots myself,” said “Buddymoon” director Alex Simmons. “They’re the best hiking boots ever made — plus, as an added bonus, they had just worked with Reese Witherspoon for ‘Wild.’ When we determined the film was going to be shot in Oregon, where Danner is based, all the stars aligned, and we were thrilled when we approached them and they agreed.”

The boot company was just as eager to join forces with the actors on the project. “We’re big fans of David and Flula, and when we heard ‘Buddymoon’ was being filmed in our backyard, we were thrilled to get Danner boots on their feet,” said Will Pennartz, senior marketing manager. “It’s exciting to see a major film promote exploring the outdoors, the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and, most importantly, having fun.”
