Allison Williams teamed up with Keds last fall to help the iconic brand celebrate its big 100th birthday. The actress takes a leading role in the Keds Collective, which celebrates strong women. Besides celebrating the standout accomplishments of women and the brand, FN talked to Williams about some of her favorite styles from the Keds collection and getting to meet fellow collective member Ciara.
On meeting Ciara: “I met Ciara at the birthday party, and she’s an absolute dream and total delight. She’s really talented, and sweet and kind and warm, and she is everything you want her to be. I’ve always thought she was absurdly talented and seeing her in person and her talent manifested was pretty remarkable.”
On her favorite style: “I think that obviously the Champion are the ones I always had. I wear the navy blue, white and black a lot, but I also love how they’ve gotten more creative with all the other styles and prints. It makes it fun to get dressed in the morning because there kind of isn’t an outfit that doesn’t work with Keds, honestly.”
On working with Keds: “[Keds] allows women and girls to express themselves from their feet up and also them to feel grounded in something that feels like an expression of their personality and character. It’s what you walk through the world in. We have an intimate relationship with the shoes we wear because we experience so much when we’re wearing them.”
On her must-have travel shoe: “I live in the Chillax. In fact I put those in my carry-on, even if I’m traveling to a cold climate and am in boots, in the event that I have to take my shoes off to go through security. I can just slip them on. They’re so easy.”
On Keds in her closet: “I have a whole section in my closet that is now Keds, and I’ve been debating whether or not to post it because there are so many of them its almost weird! I think I just need to assume that people assume that I have a lot of Keds and sort of lean into it.”
