Megyn Kelly knows how to make a fashion statement from head-to-toe.
The face of Fox News is also at the heels of the organization — designer heels, specifically — making chic appearances in pricey footwear during the GOP presidential campaign trail.
The blonde donned $1,100 asymmetrical snakeskin Prada stilettos Wednesday during an interview with Sen. Ted Cruz in Wisconsin, and later she ended her night in $1,200 Valentino heels alongside Katie Couric at the seventh annual Women in the World Summit.
From behind the news desk, viewers rarely get a glimpse at the 45-year-old’s footwear when the camera crops her body from the waist up, but the occasional wide-angle shots reveal that the former lawyer-turned-journalist favors upmarket labels from designers like Giuseppe Zanotti, YSL, Jimmy Choo and Alexandre Birman.
Still, wearing boldface designer heels in the spotlight is more about how she feels and less about what others think, she told the LA Times that it gives her a boost to her confidence, no matter if anyone sees what’s on her feet.
Describing her style as “New York casual,” she added, “If you’re wearing a pair of shoes that’s a little flashy, then it’s important not to be flashy up top and vice versa. Before I got into TV, I wasn’t fashionable at all.”
For Kelly, wielding her confidence and influence off-camera is equally important. Her efforts to help end child abuse has landed her a spot on Variety’s 2016 Women of Power New York list. Other honorees Misty Copeland, Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong’o and Vera Wang.
