The Academy of Country Music Awards hosted quite the star-studded affair last night. From Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood’s red-carpet hits to recent sensation Chris Stapleton taking the stage, one of the big moments of the awards show was when Katy Perry and Dolly Parton performed a medley together.
Not surprisingly, Parton and Perry brought their very best fashion and footwear to the performance. Parton stepped out in sky-high platforms by Christian Louboutin and a colorful, sequined jacket for plenty of sparkle. It was a nice nod to her hit song “Coat of Many Colors.”
Perry arrived on the red carpet and hit the stage wearing her friend Jeremy Scott’s latest collection. The cowboy boots were clearly meant to make and entrance — and boy, did they ever. Perry switched out her blue-and-pink ensemble for a pink-and-yellow one for the performance.
Onstage, Parton and Perry sang a medley of top country tunes over the years, including “Coat of Many Colors” and “Jolene,” which were big Parton hits in the 1970s. The set ended with the two singing Parton’s “9 to 5” and Perry bowing down to her before they left the stage hand in hand.
Parton took home the Tex Ritter Award honoring her contributions to country music, and Perry presented it to her. Onstage, Perry called the living legend her “personal hero.” Just a few weeks ago, when Parton was announced Perry would be performing with her, the pop star took to Twitter to share her excitement.
🙏🏼 MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED🙏🏼 I shall remember though that I am but one sequin on this living legend’s costume! https://t.co/4XY42M3ked

Even designer and Perry friend Jeremy Scott shared a shot on Instagram to show his excitement being with Parton.
