Ana Maria Pimentel, fashion director of women’s accessories at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, knows a thing or two about style. The fashion-forward mother of two gave FN Spy an exclusive peek into her suitcase for an upcoming family vacation and also got candid on spring ’17 trends and the made-for-television documentary she’s dying to see.
Read on for the buzz and for a look at some of her best Instagram shoefies.
Where are you headed for summer vacation and what shoes will you pack?
AP: “I’m going to the Dominican Republic, which is where [I was born]. I always pack way too many shoes. I’m obsessed with Miu Miu ballerina [flats] that lace and buckle up — I can wear them with denim or with a shirt-dress. I also love these multicolored raffia tassel flats by Manolo Blahnik, exclusive for Neiman Marcus. They are my party for my feet. I’m also obsessed with my Céline pool slides and my Gucci loafer slides.”
What shoe trends excite you for spring ’17?
AP: “I’m loving all of the casual fashion elements that are out there. I like that easy-go slide or an easy loafer and all of the ballerina influences. Anything that is decorated, adorned and emotional, that she doesn’t have in her closet yet, is definitely a winner. I want newness. I think fashion right now is so season-less and it seems like anything goes. This whole spring meets fall [idea], gender blending [as well as] emotional, adorned and decorated [styles] are making me excited.”
What shows and movies are you into at the moment?
AP: “I haven’t watched it yet, but I’ve heard that ESPN’s O.J. Simpson documentary [‘Made In America’] is very intense. All of my friends have suggested that I watch it. It’s going to be a date night for my husband and me. [Also,] I would totally go see ‘Bad Moms.’ I’m actually scared because I could probably relate to it a little too much these days.”
