Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto are back at it again. The two labels continued their collaboration on their sportswear label, Y-3, with a new men’s and women’s collection for fall ’16 — and we’ve got a look at all of the latest sneakers.
Presented during Paris Fashion Week in January, Y-3’s latest collection takes cues from two polarizing aesthetics of the 1990s: rave culture and minimalism. The result was a mix of the subtle and the shocking, like streamlined pointed runners done in electric orange colorways.

The fall collection is divided into four stories with different characteristics. “Future Sport” features heat-reacting fabrics, for instance, while stories such as “Industrial Sports” and “60 Feet Tall” offer grungier takes on its signature sporty looks.
Footwear flourishes in the collection include new takes on the Adidas Qasa and Boost styles, done in new futuristic shapes and more minimal constructions.
The Y-3 line falls in line with Adidas’ growing roster of high-end offshoot collections. Other standouts include footwear collaborations with Rick Owen, White Mountaineering and Raf Simons.
