Natalie Kingham, buying director of Matches Fashion, shares her top picks for fall 2016.
Top collections: “The platform “broken” heel boots at Balenciaga. Vetements’ glitter unicorn sock boots and reflector heel boots. Feather trainers in pink and green at Christopher Kane. J.W. Anderson crystal point toe kitten heel.”
Trend you loved: “There wasn’t was one particular trend across footwear, but it was refreshing to see a more developed shoe with interesting and individual designs — the new shape of heels at Balenciaga, embellishment at Simone Rochaand bows at Marco de Vincenzo. There were also a lot of interesting fabrications — velvet at Ellery and glitter at Brother Vellies and Vetements. We also noted that kitten heels and ballet pumps feel fresh again and were used a lot on the runway.”
Name to watch: “Sanayi–it’s a beautiful artisanal brand that feels modern and effortless but sophisticated.”
