A few days before Kate Middleton and Prince William depart on their 10-day trip to India and Bhutan, the young royals hosted a reception at Kensington Palace on Wednesday.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore blue Rupert Sanderson navy suede ‘Malory’ pumps and a matching blue polka dot dress by Indian designer Saloni. Kate and William greeted UK residents from India and Bhutan ahead of their trip. The attendees included members of the business, philanthropic and fashion communities, including Burberry model Neelam Gill.
Middleton also wore Sanderson’s pumps earlier this year in February, for her first official outing of 2016. The Duchess of Cambridge paired the style with a pale blue bespoke Alexander McQueen coat and a Lock & Co. hat for festivities to mark the 75th anniversary of the RAF Air Cadets in London. She attended a service at London’s RAF church and met with cadets to mark the occasion.
During their upcoming trip, which starts Sunday, Kate and William will take part in a variety of activities, from dinner with Bollywood stars to a garden party for the Queen’s 90th birthday. A major highlight will certainly be their visit to the Taj Mahal, the famous landmark visited by William’s mother, Princess Diana, 24 years ago.
In Bhutan, the royals will have a private audience with the country’s king and queen and visit a temple.
