Christian Siriano is gearing up for his runway reviews. Prior to his New York Fashion Week show on Saturday, the designer gave FN the inside scoop on shoes he’ll be sending down the catwalk.
“I’m into everything right now,” he said. “We have a lot of really cool lace-up boots that are open in the back. I love a chic mule and a low flat slip-on.”

Siriano is excited about the creativity across the industry. “That’s what’s great about fashion right now. Everyone is really experimenting and having fun, and everyone has their style,” he said. “It’s all so different, compared to what your favorite girls are wearing. Kim [Kardashian West’s] boots are see-through. Red-carpet dresses are beaded. It’s all so interesting.”

The designer was on hand at Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row on Wednesday to kick off NYFW. “It’s nice to see fashion from a different place,” Siriano said. “For me, I don’t get to go see shows because I’m creating my own thing. I love that all the designers can come together and support each other. Fashion week is always exciting.”

Sirianio’s show kicks off Saturday at 4 p.m. at Artbeam Studio.
