Christian Louboutin’s signature red soles made quite the appearance on runways at London Collections: Men. The luxury brand collaborated with E. Tautz and James Long on their fall ’16 footwear, creating custom sneakers and dress shoes.
Of course, runway collaborations are nothing new for Louboutin. If you remember the spring ’16 shows in London, Louboutin created biker boots for Todd Lynn.
For E. Tautz’s show, Louboutin reworked its Habana suede laceup, finishing it with a thick wooden sole. The shoes complemented the ready-to-wear collection, which was made up of cozy knits, slouchy dress pants and tailored overcoats.
At James Long, the shoes were more daring. Sneakers and rainboots were finished with woven textiles. Louboutin created three styles for the designer: a suede harness boot with multi-colored belt straps, a leather riding boot with woven colored stripes, and a low-top sneaker embellished with glitter.
“[The collection is] about the people we know and love, the fun people who inspire what we do every day,” James said in a release.
With shows on deck in Milan, Paris and New York, you can be sure we’ll be seeing more collaborations in the coming weeks.
This past New York Fashion Week, Louboutin collaborated with a large number of women’s brands on runway shoes. Among the list was Zac Posen, Jenny Packham, Naeem Khan, Dion Lee and The Blonds.
