You might know Ashley Roberts from the pop group the Pussycat Dolls, but the singer is adding a new title to her resume. Roberts announced today that she is debuting a new line of shoes just in time for the year-end holidays.
The line is expected to hit store shelves in December and is called Allyn, which is Roberts’ middle name.
Shoes are a major passion project for the singer-turned-designer, and she told FN she’s been long awaiting working on Allyn. “I have always been passionate about footwear and wanted to embark on something that I own,” she said. “I want to be part of the full brand journey and so far creatively and from a business point of view, I am fully driving this project, which is very exciting for me.”
As for a sneak peek, Roberts is keeping the designs under lock and key for the moment, but did hint it would have a bit of feminine-meets-Western aesthetic, a nod to her roots in Arizona. She said she’s also turning to fabrics and materials from Italy.
“The inspiration behind the brand was my love of shoes and my families musical history,” said Roberts. “I can’t say much at the moment as we are still finalizing designs. However, I can say that I am bringing together the feminine with a touch of cowboy.”
Stay tuned for more details as the line comes together.
