In Her Shoes: Stacey Griffith’s Creative Recreation Sneakers This Week

This week, FN’s sneaker columnist Stacey Griffith — a senior master instructor at SoulCycle and avid sneakerhead — opts for Creative Recreation sneakers. See her thoughts on the style below:

“This was a really awesome surprise from a pop-up store on Melrose Avenue in L.A. over the Christmas break. Creative Recreation had an unbelievable selection of high-tops that literally blew my mind.

I chose these bone-toned velcro high-tops for many reasons. First thing is that you never really see faux python in an all-white sneaker that’s puffy! It’s hard to believe it’s not real.

Second, this shoe reminds me of an ooooold pair of Nike Air Force One basketball shoes I had in the 1980s. It’s like the first pair ever made with the super-cushy sole, and the one fatty Velcro strap across the top. The difference is this shoe is so chic that you would never play in it. #Toofancy.

The sole is Vibram so that should explain everything about its comfort.

The people in the store could not have been cooler. They literally gave me things off the shelf that were for display only — like socks, and a hat for my partner Deb.

If you go to their website, however, you will have to hunt for this shoe. I can’t find it anywhere online. Happy hunting!”
