Solange Knowles’ debut on “Saturday Night Live” was a family affair. Her mother, Tina, and sister Beyoncé celebrated the singer’s first time as a musical guest on the late-night show by showing support backstage and on social media.
“She’s still our baby ❤,” a beaming Tina captioned a video on Instagram. “We have Been picking her up like this since she was 10 yrs old . On the legendary SNL stage❤.”
The video shows Solange’s mother and sister lifting her above ground for a heartwarming photo.
Of course, such a grand occasion deserves a grand fashion statement.
Solange donned a pair of Proenza Schouler silver booties for both of her performances on the show. The tumbled metallic leather boots features a 2.8-inch curved block heel, grommeted lace-up back and round coated cap toe; they retail for $1,190 online.
The songbird performed “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair” from her acclaimed album “A Seat at the Table,” which debuted No. 1 in October on the Billboard 200 list.
She entertained the crowd wearing a stunning ensemble that included La Perla’s Silk Flair bandeau bra and matching brief, and she sparkled with a see-through custom Erickson Beamon Swarovski crystal dress and earrings. During her final number, she had on a white bikini top and matching trousers.
Beyoncé looked elegant in Alice McCall’s Senorita dress and Giuseppe Zanotti’s Witch crystal sandals. Later, she posed for a photo with her husband, Jay Z, and “SNL” cast member Leslie Jones.
Solange and Beyoncé are now one of three pairs of siblings to have an album debut at the top spot on the Billboard 200 list. Michael and Janet Jackson, and Master P and Silkk the Shocker are the other artists that have earned the distinction.
