Rihanna took inspiration from the runway to the red carpet at Black Girls Rock.
The 28-year-old stepped out in pearl-embellished heels from Miu Miu’s fall ’16 collection and an ensemble that matched the brand’s catwalk presentation on Friday at the Newark, N.J., event.
She was honored with the Rock Star Award by Black Girls Rock, a nonprofit youth-empowerment and mentoring organization.
The singer’s outfit included a tan fur coat, white shorts and a long gingham shirt. She accessorized with a jeweled Dolce & Gabbana clutch and more sparkling gems.
The “Black Girls Rock” program will air Tuesday on BET at 8 p.m. ET
And while it was Miu Miu on her mind at the music event, Rihanna has an affection for Manolo Blank, too.
In her latest music video, “Kiss It Better,” the hitmaker donned the designer’s Pitina strappy stiletto. Her limited-edition capsule collection with Blahnik made its debut May 5. The denim-themed designs are available in six styles, including sandals, pumps and boots, sold at Blahnik’s stores in London, New York and Hong Kong.
Speaking to FN, she called the designer “an incredible human being.”
“He’s so fun to work with, and I was blessed with the opportunity to see him create from scratch,” she said. “He’s so passionate about what he does, and it makes it so worth it when you buy or wear a pair of his shoes because you know what went into it. He’s not copy and paste. He’s not letting anyone do his work. He has a small team as well. He still loves everything about shoes, and it’s so refreshing.”
