Since assuming her royal duties, Kate Middleton has established herself as a true fashion trendsetter. She is known for mixing high and low price points, reusing favorite pieces for royal outings and any time she steps out in a style, it almost is guaranteed to sell out. Her looks are always classic without feeling overly conservative, and elegant without being stuffy.
But even with all the dresses, there’s one area Footwear News always feels a little let down — and that’s Kate’s shoes.
Don’t get us wrong: We love a great nude or black heel. The suede pump is timeless and a wardrobe staple for a reason — they go with everything. We have to admit, there are times we just want a pop of color, a new texture or detail, or a great evening sandal.
Well, hold the phone, because Kate Middleton might just have raised our shoe expectations on her royal visit to Canada. Not only has she worn two red pumps, she’s also stepped out in a knee-high riding boot, Western boots and a heeled loafer. We can hardly contain the excitement.
Earlier this week, she knocked our socks off wearing red heels by Gianvito Rossi and Russell & Bromley.
Then she stepped out in Penelope Chilver’s chic, outdoor-ready riding boots, followed by a pair of loafer heels by Tod’s.
The duchess capped it off with a pair of Western inspired boots.
Even with all these she also managed to fit in one of her classics, an L.K. Bennett nude pump paired with a green Dolce & Gabbana dress.
We can’t remember the last time we saw such shoe diversity from the Duchess of Cambridge, and we like to think it’s a well shod step in the right direction.
