The Grammy Awards red carpet turned out to be a bit of a disappointment for the editors at FN. Usually it’s an awards show that brings out a whole slew of short dresses, pants or skirts that give us a clear look at the fabulous shoes. This year, not so much. There were lots of long gowns and wide-legged pants that concealed the footwear.
Luckily, when it was time for music’s biggest stars to take the stage, we were able to get a better look. Taylor Swift opened the show with her song “Out of the Woods,” wearing what looked to be her custom Stuart Weitzman glittery booties that she wore on her 1989 tour.
The Weeknd opted for a classic tux and dress shoes. Ariana Grande’s Romona Keveza bright red gown concealed her Giuseppe Zanotti heels. Beyoncé presented the Record of the Year award to Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson for “Uptown Funk” wearing an Inbal Dror white dress with sheer cut-outs. The gown only allowed a slight glimpse of her metallic T-strap platform sandals.
Justin Bieber, who walked the red carpet with his younger brother wearing head-to-toe Saint Laurent, changed into a Saint Laurent leopard-print jacket and Adidas Ultra Boost sneakers for his performance of “Where Are U Now” and “Love Yourself.” It looks like the sneakers were a solid choice–Bieber showed off some serious dance moves.
Sofia Vergara also made a surprise appearance with Pitbull. The actress wore dance performance shoes, similar to those Jennifer Lopez has been wearing during her stint in Las Vegas.
