All good things come in time, such as high-end watchmaker Hublot and Lavati footwear’s new collaborative sneaker.
The luxury labels partnered on a limited-edition shoe that debuted on Sunday in Miami at the Komodo restaurant at a dinner celebrating music producer and sneakerhead DJ Khaled’s birthday (he turned 41 on Nov. 26). The Snapchat king was among the first (and few) to score the footwear: Only 100 pairs were produced.
Paying a nod to the 10th anniversary of Hublot’s Big Bang “All Black” watch — the first completely black timepiece, featuring black sapphires and beveled black diamonds — Lavati reimagined the Swiss accessory in a minimalist high-top silhouette.
Design details include an all-black palette, seamless stitching and embossing on premium leather, and black Swarovski Crystals embedded on the lace tips. Subtle Hublot branding is embossed on the side and heel tab, and Lavati x Hublot is featured on the tongue.
Lavati co-founder Davidson Petit Frère, who launched the label in July with Yossi Benshetrit, said it was an “honor” to partner with the luxury watchmaker. “We dug deep to keep both of the brands’ DNA intact,” Petit Frère shared on Facebook today. “We made numerous trips back and forth to Italy, making sure every detail was nothing short of perfection.”
Lavati’s original collection includes a range of Chelsea boots, low-top and mid-top styles ($395 to $525 online) that have found fans in Stephen Curry, Kevin Hart and Zayn Malik.
