Lady Gaga has had a big year. Her 2016 highlights included singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, giving an emotional David Bowie tribute at the Grammy Awards, and releasing “Joanne,” her fifth studio album. And with each memorable moment, Lady Gaga was able to mark those occasions with just as memorable fashion statements.
In February, she took the stage at Super Bowl 50 and grabbed the stadium’s attention with not only her vocals but with her custom Gucci platform shoes and her red glittered suit. The pop powerhouse later gifted her custom Super Bowl Gucci shoes to Elton John for his AIDS foundation Oscar party. The red, white and blue platforms were made by Gucci’s Alessandro Michele and were auctioned off to one lucky bidder for a whopping $55,000.
Gaga also celebrated her 30th birthday in March. The “Million Reasons” songstress towered over guests in a pair of 10-inch Tribeca sandals, which were custom-made by Brian Atwood. Plenty of A-list celebs were on hand to party with Gaga, including Taylor Swift, Lorde, Kate Hudson, Pharrell Williams, Suki Waterhouse, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.
This isn’t the first time she’s chosen Brian Atwood for a special night out.
Lady Gaga opted for a Versace gown and Brian Atwood heels at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards. There, she won the Golden Globe for best actress in a limited-series or TV movie for her role as The Countess in “American Horror Story: Hotel.”
In May, Gaga stunned on the 2016 Met Gala red carpet wearing a cut-out bodysuit and matching cropped jacket from Versace. To go with the ensemble, she wore another pair of jaw-dropping platform shoes.
Recently, the pop star has been on the road promoting “Joanne.” Since its October release, Lady Gaga has performed the album’s hits on multiple occasions, including on “Saturday Night Live,” the American Music Awards and the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
During the VS runway show, which airs tonight on CBS, Lady Gaga wowed once again in sky-high platform heels — and it probably won’t be the last time, either.
