Beyoncé rang in her 35th birthday in style on Monday night in New York City. The “Formation” singer and her A-list guests came together in their best 1970s gear for the “Soul Train”-themed party.
Beyoncé dressed according to the theme, rocking metallic Betty platform by Giuseppe Zanotti, teased hair, an embellished ensemble and gold hoop earrings.
Guests included husband Jay Z, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, Usher, Kendrick Lamar, Kelly Rowland, LaLa and Carmelo Anthony, Chance the Rapper and Solange Knowles.
Earlier in the day, Beyoncé thanked her fans on Instagram for all of the thoughtful birthday wishes she received. She wrote, “I am so fortunate to have the love and support of my family, my friends, and my hive. We’ve grown up together and you guys continue to inspire and motivate me everyday. I’m so grateful for every challenge, every smile, every tear, every discovery, every sacrifice, every triumph, every stretch mark, every kiss, every scar. I strive to make you proud.”
As Beyoncé continues on her Formation World Tour, it was announced that the “Lemonade” singer would be postponing an upcoming show, set for Wednesday at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, due to doctor’s orders to be put on vocal rest. She will make up the show on Oct. 7, for what will be the final show on the tour.
Beyoncé is also coming off her eight trophies she received at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, which included Video of the Year.
