It’s easy to get frustrated when you encounter a long line, particularly during the frenetic holiday season.
That’s why Rebecca Minkoff has partnered with QueueHop on a new self-checkout technology that aims to ease the experience for millennial shoppers. QueueHop is a mobile solution with an anti-theft tag that unlocks after a payment is made via an app.
“More and more we are seeing millennials want to be in complete control of any and all of their shopping, and that includes payment,” said Rebecca Minkoff CEO Uri Minkoff. “Long gone are the days where you needed to depend fully on a sales assistant to request new sizes or to ring you up. We needed to continue finding ways to make her feel like she can have multiple experiences.”
Since it opened two years ago, the store has differentiated itself with unique technology elements, including a smart wall, tech-savvy fitting room and mood lighting.
“When we first opened our stores, we looked at enhancing the VIP shopping experience for our customer,” Minkoff said. “Now with this new round of technology, we’re looking at ways to perfect the anonymous shopping experience that will empower our customer to not feel the intimidation that can often be felt with the shopping experience.”
