Philanthropy continues to be a big deal at Lord & Taylor.
On April 30, the Hudson Bay Co.-owned department store chain will host a companywide charity event for spring 2016. The day of giving follows the company’s “new year, new you” themed charity day in January and its breast cancer awareness event in October.
This time around, all 50 Lord & Taylor stores will participate in an effort to raise funds for nonprofit organization Habitat for Humanity.
With the purchase of a $5 ticket, customers visiting any Lord & Taylor location on April 30 will receive two 30 percent-off single-item coupons and a 20 percent-off savings pass, including 10 percent off cosmetics and fragrances. The full $5 cost of each ticket sale made will go to Habitat for Humanity, according to the company. Additionally, 1 percent of all LordandTaylor.com proceeds received on April 30 will go to Habitat For Humanity, up to a maximum of $15,000, the company said.
Lord & Taylor has also promised that customers who purchase a $5 ticket, in stores on April 30, will receive a Mother’s Day card for themselves or to give to a special woman in their lives.
Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity provides shelter and housing assistance to help families recover from natural disasters, war and civil unrest.
