Franco Sarto is stepping up its online presence.
The Italian-inspired shoe label on Monday launched an e-commerce site, www.francosarto.com. The new site will allow shoppers to purchase Franco Sarto’s assortment of heels, flats, wedges, boots, booties and sandals as well as items from Sarto Collection — the brand’s higher-end line.
“We are excited to offer our customer direct access to Franco Sarto product,” said Jay Schmidt, president of Caleres brand portfolio, in a release. “Franco Sarto fans are very loyal, we hope that by giving our consumer more — more of our looks, more of our styles and news and more of our vision — she will be able to find where her lifestyle can be met with shoes she’ll love to live in.”
The 26-year-old brand, founded by designer Franco Sarto and acquired by Caleres Inc. in 2005, is also ramping up its social media efforts. The site features a section called Inspirazione, with quick links to help fans follow the brand on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Tumblr.
As more consumers shift their shopping habits from visiting brick-and-mortar stores to making fashion purchases online and on their phones, brands and retailers have been feeling the pressure to launch e-commerce websites or update their existing ones.
For design, Franco Sarto’s site uses a soft color palette and has a series of Italian phrases — “Make Everyday Bellissima” for example — sprinkled across its various pages.
