Christian Louboutin has arrived in Honolulu with the brand’s opening of a shop this week in the International Market Place.
The 1,000-sq.-ft. space in Hawaii’s capital marks 130 global stores for the label. The assortment includes women’s and men’s shoes, handbags and small leather goods.
To create the shop, Louboutin worked with 212box, a New York architecture firm, to craft a modern space “celebrating the natural beauty of Hawaii,” said brand insiders. The store includes nublado stone, features geometric basaltina tiles and displays that show off each shoe style.
Metal gates also serve as displays. Their midnight blue lacquer panels “give the illusion that the gates rest atop pools of water, incorporating the island’s natural elements with the design.”
The boutique also showcases exclusive designs, such as the Fireworks motif, added to the Rivierina on Fire 100 women’s look and the Henri on Fire for men.
