Lord & Taylor Partners With ‘Look Good Feel Better’ For Charity Day

Lord & Taylor is kicking off 2016 with a focus on giving back.

The Hudson’s Bay Co.-owned department store chain will host a “new year, new you” themed charity day on Jan. 16 to benefit the Look Good Feel Better charitable program.

Look Good Feel Better was developed in 1989 and is a national public service program designed to help individuals with cancer deal with the appearance-related side effects of treatment. The organization seeks to improve the self-esteem of individuals with cancer and help them better manage their treatment and recovery.

On Saturday, all Lord & Taylor stores will offer a range of activities — including nail art stations, refreshments by cold-pressed juice bar Liquiteria, a Tarot card reader, yoga demonstrations and personal trainer mini-workout classes — to help customers “look and feel their best.”

With the purchase of a $5 ticket, Lord & Taylor shoppers will receive two 30 percent-off single-item coupons and a 20 percent-off savings pass, including 10 percent off cosmetics and fragrances (for use on Jan. 16 only).

Tickets can be purchased at Lord & Taylor stores. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Look Good Feel Better, and an additional 1 percent of all LordandTaylor.com proceeds received on Jan. 16 will also go to Look Good Feel Better, up to a maximum of $15,000, according to the company.

Lord & Taylor hosted a similar promotion/benefit for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October. During a charity day, observed on Oct. 3 at all Lord & Taylor stores, shoppers who purchased a $5 ticket also received coupons granting them 10 percent to 30 percent off items in the store. The event benefited local cancer charities, and the company said it intended to host several similar benefits in the future.
