MyTheresa confirmed today that fashion director Justin O’Shea is exiting the company at the end of this month. Speculation began after Business of Fashion tweeted the exit.
O’Shea joined the European e-tailer in June 2011 and was promoted to Global Fashion Director in January.
O’Shea helped to build MyTheresa’s reputation as a unique online experience where shoppers could find a curated and edited assortment of fashion from both top designers and emerging labels.
Over the years, O’Shea helped to develop close relationships with the teams at Gianvito Rossi, Aquazzura, Tod’s and Roger Vivier. His eye for emerging trends and use of street style as inspiration helped to set his buys apart early on in his career.
“We would like to thank Justin for his vast contributions to the success of mythersa.com,” said Michael Kliger, president of My Theresa. “His vision and passion have played a key role in growing the business, developing the brand and strengthening vendor relationships. We wish him all the best for his future endeavors.”
A replacement for O’Shea hasn’t been confirmed.
In November 2015, Footwear News named MyTheresa.com Retailer of the Year at its annual FNNAs. O’Shea was on hand in December to accept the award on behalf of the e-tailer.
