The men’s fall ’15 shows in London kicked off a frenzy of footwear styles, from glittered sneakers to shearling-panel sneakers.
The offering ranged from a fixation on the classics to flashy flourishes. Moschino’s extra-fluffy fur boots and Katie Eary’s pink sparkly high-tops were a bold deviation from classic menswear, while Christopher Kane’s leather boots were a subtler update with oversized straps.
The shows were a season of renewal for veteran shoe designers. Manolo Blahnik presented his first men’s collection, part of an ongoing push to expand his men’s products. John Lobb also presented its first collection under the new artistic direction of Paula Gerbase, delivering a refreshed lineup of chukkas, sneakers and strapped calf boots.
In collaboration news, Christian Louboutin partnered with Todd Lynn on two runway shoes, including a Chelsea boot and mid-top sneakers with elastic straps.
