The terrible earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday has so far resulted in more than 2,500 deaths, with many more injured. The quake reached a magnitude of 7.8 and occurred near Kathmandu.

As reports continue to come in, it is unknown how many more people are still trapped under collapsed buildings.

Our close friend and Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung is using his influence to raise much-needed awareness and funds to aid the survivors of this shocking disaster. The designer has set up an earthquake relief fund to help benefit the Shikshya Foundation of Nepal.

The fund has so far raised more than $145,000, with a goal of more than $250,000. We urge all of you to dig deep and donate now. And please spread the word.

There has been an outpouring of support from celebrities and members of the fashion industry, with many using their own platforms to raise awareness of Gurung’s relief fund and to lend their love and support.
