Chanel ballet flats will always be de rigueur in Paris. Fitting then, that we’ve spied many pairs wandering the sidewalks during the couture shows this week.
What may surprise more however, was the eclectic mix of styles donned by the fashion pack and industry insiders alike, as they made their way through cobblestone streets from show to show. There were flats, stilettos, wedges, clogs, platforms and sneakers, all seen wandering around the Carrousel du Louvre.
Whilst fellow French brands were well represented (enter Roger Vivier’s Inès de la Fressange), Italian fashion houses still dominated when it came to footwear. From Prada pumps to Miu Miu sandals and Marni flatforms, the one thing they all had in common was the geographical location on which they were founded. Speaking of Italians, numerous sightings were made of the Valentino Rockstud, in all it’s glory – no surprises there. This is one style you are almost guaranteed to see on the fashion week circuit.

Off-duty style continued to find it’s place among the show goers, usually in the form of espadrilles, slip-on sneakers and the eternally present Converse Chuck Taylor, which at one point was spied aptly paired with a multi-textured look.
