Williams, wearing a feminine white gown and matching pumps, and Djokovic, in a suit and tie paired with patent dress shoes, shared possibly the best moment of the tournament when both took the floor to share a dance at the Wimbledon closing dinner. They managed to pull off probably one of the best-worst routines ever, and it was great to see them all smiles after a very long tournament.
Williams posted to her Instagram account afterward, proclaiming that they were both “champions” and “clowns,” which is understandable, since we spotted some vintage disco-inspired moves on the part of Djokovic. Gpod thing they have great day jobs.
In a blowout match against 21-year old Garbine Muguruza, Williams won handily, 6-4, 6-4. It was Williams’ sixth Wimbledon win. She has also won the Australian Open and the French Open this year, so if she takes the U.S. Open crown in August, she’ll be this year’s Grand Slam champion — the first female to hold it since Steffi Graf in 1988.
On the men’s side, Novak Djokovic clinched the title after a nearly three-hour match against Roger Federer, 7-6 (7-1), 6-7 (10-12), 6-4, 6-3. Djokovic is one of only a handful of tennis players to win the Wimbledon title two years in a row.
