Stars on the Front Row At Paris Fashion Week: Chanel & Dior

Couture is heating up even as the mercury plummets.

That means celebs are hitting Fashion Week for a sneak peek at what’s in store from some of their favorite design houses. Kristen Stewart, Elizabeth Olsen and, somewhat surprisingly, Kris Jenner were on hand to give us shoe envy at the shows.

Dior, led by Creative Director Raf Simons, kicked off the week on Monday with bold PVC boots in tomato red, lime green and tangerine, grounded with thick plastic heels. But all eyes were on Natalie Portman in the Frow, beside husband Benjamin Millepied. The “Black Swan” star wore black tights with matching pumps for her first return to the French fashion house since the Galliano controversy broke in 2011.

Portman was joined in the front row by designer Azzedine Alaia, Carla Sozzani (sister of Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani), Elizabeth Olsen, blogger Susie Lau and Dylan Penn. Olsen and Penn tied for best shoes at the show in FN’s book (check out the looks in our gallery, above).

On Tuesday morning, it was on to Chanel. The French fashion house, led by Karl Lagerfeld, attracted the likes of Kristen Stewart, Inès de la Fressange, and even Kris Jenner — in summery sandals.

Stewart stole the show in lace-up leather booties, while de la Fressange, a brand ambassador for Roger Vivier, put both feet forward in velvety black slippers with gold embroidery. Perhaps they were a pair of Isabel Marant loafers — the style icon told FN Spy earlier this month that she’d bought several pairs of them.
